Bushcraft Wednesdays

The Draco Project Bushcraft Club meets every Wednesday rain or shine! The bushcraft club runs from 6.00pm – 9.00pm. It’s currently open to ages 8 – 14. Everyone regardless of ability is welcome. Please note: the ground is currently rough and uneven, so limited mobility members may struggle. If you are concerned please contact us and we will try to accommodate you where possible.

Learn Outdoor & Survival Techniques

The sessions will be taught by qualified instructors and given the chance to learn various bushcraft techniques such as:

  • Shelter & Den Building
  • Knots & Rope Work
  • Safe Use & Maintenance Of Cutting Tools
  • Tracking & Nature Awareness
  • Woodcrafts
  • Natural Navigation Techniques
  • Fire Lighting Techniques
  • Plants & Tree Identification & Uses
  • Foraging Skills
  • Backwoods Cooking Skills
  • Map & Compass Skills
  • And Much More…

Building Outdoor Knowledge

This is an on-going club meeting every Wednesday. We will look at different skills at each session. Over time, you will build your knowledge of bushcraft, wild plants and tree uses, countryside knowledge, as well as wilderness travelling and living skills.

Extra Activities

Some of the meetings will be ‘classroom’ based (not as boring as it sounds) and will cover topics such as woodworking, blacksmithing, leathercraft etc. From time to time we go camping and once in a while we’ll go for a beach or woodland barbecue with game, fish, shellfish and foraged foods.
